This service receives appointment details from a system you connect to it, and creates the matching request and scheduled assessment in your Jobber account. This page describes exactly what it reads from Jobber, what it keeps, and for how long.
What we access in Jobber
Access is granted by you through Jobber's OAuth screen and can be revoked at any time from Jobber → Apps. Revoking it stops this service immediately.
| Jobber object | Access | What we do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Read | Read the account's ID and name once, to identify which Jobber account a webhook belongs to. |
| Users | Read only | List team members so you know which Jobber user IDs are valid to assign an assessment to, and read the timezone of the person who authorised the app to set the account's default. We read each user's name, email, status and whether they are available for scheduling. We never create, change or delete users. |
| Clients | Read & write | Search for an existing client matching the email or phone number in an incoming appointment, and create one when there is no match. We read names, company names, email addresses, phone numbers and property addresses to do that matching. |
| Properties | Read & write | Read a client's existing service addresses, and add the address from the appointment when it is new. |
| Requests | Read & write | Create the request that the assessment belongs to, carrying the title and property from the appointment. |
| Scheduled items (assessments) | Read & write | Create the assessment itself, carrying the instructions and schedule from the appointment, assigned to whichever team members it named, if any. |
We do not access quotes, invoices, payments, payouts, expenses or timesheets, and we do not request the permissions that would allow it.
What this service stores
| Jobber access tokens | Stored, encrypted, for as long as the account stays connected. They are what lets an appointment arriving at 3am reach Jobber without anybody being signed in. Deleted when you disconnect. |
|---|---|
| Your configuration | Your webhook token and account settings (timezone, default appointment title and duration). Each Jobber company you connect is stored and managed separately, with its own webhook. |
| Delivery log | The full body of each request is retained, including the customer's name, email, phone number and service address, together with the response we returned. The most recent 500 deliveries per account are kept; older ones are deleted automatically. This exists so a missed appointment can be diagnosed and replayed. |
| Sign-in sessions | A session cookie, so you stay signed in to the dashboard. No third-party or advertising cookies are set. |
| Who has signed in | The name and email of each Jobber user who has authorised this app, against the company they authorised it for. Two purposes: showing your organisation the same dashboard when more than one of you signs in to the same Jobber company, and letting one person switch between different companies they are an admin on without repeating Jobber's sign-in each time. |
Appointment data passes through this service on its way to Jobber. Once the assessment is created, Jobber is the system of record — this service is a relay, not a second copy of your customer database.
How an appointment is processed
- Your sending system posts an appointment to a secret webhook URL.
- The URL's token is checked. Unrecognised URLs are rejected.
- We search Jobber for a matching client, create one if there is none, attach the service address, and create the request and the scheduled assessment on it.
- We answer the sender with the created Jobber IDs, and record the outcome in the delivery log described above.
Processing happens during the request. Nothing is queued or sent anywhere else.
Who else sees the data
Two parties, and no others: Jobber, which receives the appointment because creating the assessment is the entire purpose, and the hosting provider that runs this installation. There are no analytics services, no advertising networks, no third-party trackers, and no data brokers. Data is not sold, rented or shared for marketing.
Risks you should weigh
Stated plainly, because a policy that only lists reassurances is not much use.
- The webhook URL is a credential. Anyone holding it can create clients, requests and assessments in your Jobber account. Treat it like a password; if it leaks, regenerate it from the dashboard, which retires the old one immediately.
- Appointments carry personal data — names, phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses and any notes your sender includes, such as gate codes. That data travels to this service and on to Jobber, and is retained in the delivery log as described above.
- Transport security depends on this installation. This installation is configured for HTTPS, so traffic to it is encrypted in transit.
- Stored tokens are only as safe as the server. Tokens are encrypted with a key held in a file outside the database, so a database leak alone does not expose them — but anyone with full access to the server can read both.
- Automatic client creation can create duplicates. When an appointment's email and phone number do not match an existing Jobber client, a new one is created. Inconsistent data from the sending system will produce duplicate client records that somebody has to merge.
- A wrong timezone books work at the wrong hour. Appointment times sent without a timezone are interpreted in the timezone configured for the account.
Your control
- Stop all access: revoke the app in Jobber → Apps, or disconnect from the dashboard. Stored tokens stop working at once.
- Stop new appointments: regenerate the webhook URL and do not give out the new one.
- Erase stored data: because this is a self-hosted installation, deleting the database file removes everything it holds.
- Retain less: payload storage can be turned off from the dashboard, after which request bodies are no longer kept.
